Tomas Hrstka is an ore geologist and process mineralogist helping mining companies and other stakeholders unlock value in complex orebodies. With over 20 years of experience in economic geology and mineral processing, he currently serves as Sr. Manager, Business and Technology Development (NAM & Global) at SGS.

As a Technical Ambassador for the Global Biosciences Center (GBC) and a member of the Digital Ventures Committee—appointed by the CEO—he has broad experience supporting innovation and technology projects. His focus includes the integration of Automated Mineralogy, AI solutions, and Mining Biotechnology.

Tomas has played a key role in establishing the TIMA automated mineralogy system globally. He specializes in unlocking value in complex and critical mineral deposits across emerging opportunities in Europe, the Middle East, and Central Asia, including the Tethyan Belt. Recognized for bridging applied mineralogy and geometallurgy with strategic decision-making, he helps mining companies transform challenging ores and secondary resources—such as tailings and re-mining opportunities—into economically viable projects. His work focuses on accelerating development, improving operational performance, and supporting regional resource security.
